Brandon Wood

CEO / Partner

Bio

I grew up in nearby Forest Lake, where in high school I met my wife Brooke. My early interest in finance led me to the University of St. Thomas. I picked up my degree in financial management there in 1999.

I started my career as a treasury analyst for Cargill Inc. There I managed risk controls for their North American trading group, while also handling bank fee analysis, negotiation, and reduction. This investment risk and expense management experience helped form the philosophies that I live by today.

Prior to creating Solidity Financial, I spent eight years as vice president of Securus Wealth Management. Over the years I held roles as lead advisor, trader, and chief operating officer. We had a great run there, but the time was right to break off to build a new firm from the ground up.

I have seen a lot in finance; the good, the bad, and the ugly. The perspective I have gained over the years has brought incredible clarity. I believe strongly in Solidity’s independent, objective, zero-commission structure that emphasizes client relationships, small-firm appeal along with huge-company capabilities.

My wife and I have lived in the Shoreview area since 1997. We have three little rug rats that keep us super busy. We all have way too many hobbies; kids sports, hunting, fishing and whatever else gets us as much fresh air as possible!

Ryan Tansom

Bio

I was born and raised in Minnesota.  However, when I was a kid, we moved around a bit as a result of my Dad’s career.  This definitely helped push me out of my shell as I literally had no other choice but to meet people if I wanted to have friends. We eventually moved back to Minnesota where my Dad started his own company, Imaging Path.

After graduating from Mahtomedi High School, I was accepted into Saint John’s University. Going to SJU was one of the best decisions I have made. I found out what it meant to be a “Johnnie,” I met my wife Megan who is a “Bennie,” and established an amazing core group of friends.

I decided to join my Dad’s business after college. Imaging Path sold IT services and printing equipment. I started grinding on the streets in sales and continued to climb the ranks where I eventually took a lead role in developing our outsourced IT services offering. From there I became the Executive VP taking on more responsibility of running the business. I took a lead role in turning the company around and helped position it for sale to a local competitor. Throughout the process, I learned the intricacies of business, finance, and what it takes to help us and others achieve financial success.

After a few months helping to make sure the acquisition went smoothly, I decided to take the skills and expertise I acquired in my career at Imaging Path and team up with Brandon at Solidity Financial. We both have a crazy passion for doing investments the right way and share very similar outlooks on life.

I continue to leverage my experiences as an entrepreneur in my Life After Business podcast.  My goal is to bring you all the information and resources I wish I would have had during our exit planning experience. At Solidity, we can guide you through the exit planning process to ensure that you transition into a happy and purposeful life after business. 

Corey Tansom

Bio

Corey Tansom is a 55-year father of three. He was founder and CEO of a Minnesota Office Equipment and IT services business, Imaging Path.  After mortgaging his house in the mid 90’s to start the company and growing it to 20-million-dollars, he sold the business. After a short retirement he joined his son Ryan’s company, Solidity Financial.  Using his experience and knowledge Corey is helping companies plan their exits and transition successfully into a life after business.

Our firm was designed with a specific intention – to help you maximize your hard work. Whether that’s years of building a business or diligent saving, we have an independent and zero-commmision model that puts us 100% in the trenches with you. No conflict, quotas, or hidden kickbacks.

The Story Behind the Firm:

Brandon creates Solidity

  • After 8 years at a Minnesota Wealth Management firm where he managed over $300 Million, hundreds of clients, and many advisors, Brandon decides he is fed up of the commission based environment and breaks off on his own.
  • Brandon has 1 goal; he wants ZERO conflicts with the client so he can sleep at night knowing he is doing everything in his best effort to help anyone who seeks out his advice.
  • After a TON of research (as usual), Brandon names the firm Solidity so it reflects what he strives to be for his clients.

Ryan & Brandon Meet

  • Both being part of the early morning crowd at Lifetime Fitness, Ryan and Brandon become close friends as they talk business and life.
  • As Brandon is starting his own firm, Ryan is in the middle of selling his family business, learning a lot from the process, and trying to figure out what to do next.
  • During a fishing trip to Canada to get away from the whirlwind of both situations, Brandon and Ryan decide to partner up to build the firm of their dreams!

Passions & Experience Unite!

  • Brandon’s passion is helping people take their investments and wealth to create lifetime cash flow with the least amount of risk so they can live the life they want.
  • Ryan’s passion is bringing entrepreneurs all the infrormation and resources they need to exit their company and avoid all the mistakes they made in their family business sale.

He decides to join the team as the Director of Sales so he can share his experience and help bring on new business owner clients looking to increase the value of their business.
  • Solidity brings on advisors who can work with business owners to create their value building and exit plans using Solidity’s resources and technology.
  • A local business owner peer group company, Allied Executives, partners up with Solidity to help owners focus on what really matters in their business – increasing the value of their company so they can sell when they want, to whom they want, for how much they want!
